Hi,
is there a reference paper where Noise filter is described in more detail, or is Noise filter an "original" algorithm available only in CloudCompare?
I couldn't find anything about it outside of CC documentation, and I'm interested in looking more into it, like testing parameters on reference dataset (I'm writing a master's thesis about detecting noise in dense UAV point clouds and evaluating factors that could cause noise).
Also, what exactly is meant by "relative error" and "absolute error" in this context? Is relative error parameter same as nsigma in SOR?
Thank you,
Michal
P.S.: Thank you for your hard work Daniel, I'm using CC on day-to-day basis and I love it :)
Noise filter "debunked"
Re: Noise filter "debunked"
Well, I don't know if another software package has a similar tool, but it's not rocket science anyway. It's just an extension of the SOR filter: see https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... ise_filter.
And yes, the 'relative' error is just a number of sigmas.
