I have a point cloud in pts format that was derived from photography that I am trying to unroll, and I get an error that "Method can't be applied on virtual point clouds" and I am looking for a workaround?

The error message is not the right one I think... I guess you are trying to do this on a 'locked' point cloud (even if a PTS file shouldn't be locked but who knows...).
Is there a warning message about this in the console? If yes, then you just have to 'clone' the cloud and then apply the process on the resulting cloud.
Can you confirm if it solves the issue (or not ;)?
