Laser Scanning and 3D Reconstruction.

Hello everybody!

I'm Andre, I'm a master's student in my final year and I'm working on my final project, my project consists of collecting 3D images with a laser in different positions and then we have to reconstruct the images.
For example:
We scan a palm in different positions and then have the task of recreating a hand, which would be joining all the dots.

I tried several software until I found cloudcompare. And I wanted help on how I can do this with cloudcompare.

I have no experience with this type of subject, any help would be welcome.

Do you mean that you want to register different scans with a small overlap? If yes, then you should look at the ICP tool (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/index.php/ICP). Pay attention to the 'overlap' parameter.

Else, you'll have to share some pictures to help us understand.

Daniel, I'm going to share the images I got from a test I did, they have a front, side and back view and what I wanted was to learn how to fill in the back, instead of it being the way it is.

Well, it's hard to see (don't hesitate to activate the EDL shader ;), but assuming you have some overlapping surfaces, you can indeed use the Edit > Translate/Rotate tool to roughly align the scans, and then use the ICP tool (see https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... gistration)
