RE: LAZ file to 3-D printable object

Post by MaxTailor »

Hello, I have a lidar scan of a terrain from which I can create a triangular mesh. But this (very large mesh of triangles) will not 3-D print- as the x,y,z point terrain is only 1 pixel thick. How do I 'solidify' it and perhaps add a small base between it- the terrain, and a similarly sized xy plane belowit on the z=0 axis? Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!

I personally don't know. CC is not very strong with meshes in general. I would guess that another tool such ass Meshlab or Blender are probably better suited to do this kind of operation.
