Adjacent data in CSV corrupting cloud - bug?

Hi
I'm importing cloud (model) data in csv format. I am examining two dimensional slices of a product, imported in *.ply format, and comparing with this CSV model.
When the csv file contains only three vectors (x, y and z) there is no problem.
My *.csv data however comes in columns representing four slices i.e.
Column 1: x_slice_one
Column 2: y_slice_one
Column 3: z_slice_one
Column 4: x_slice_two
Column 5: y_slice_two
etc (12 columns)
When opening I have tried to use the "Ignore" function in the popup window for the 9 columns I don't wish to look at as I'm comparing one *.ply at a time. However while this does import the three columns it appears to corrupt the data with adjacent columns data points. The corruption seems to be an overwriting of some data.
[*.bmp not permitted]This can be seen in the attached *.bmp where the contiguous points represent the desired data and the free-floating lines are 'ghosts' from adjacent columns.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything I can do other than saving four csv files for each dataset?
Thanks in advance for the help
