Hi Daniel!

I have an issue.....SHOCKING I KNOW!

I have an airphoto in .tif format that I need to reference. (I can only reference in 2D in ArcGIS)
I can import the tif to CC very nicely, however, after transformation, I can't export as a tif....I need a way to export a raster....

Any suggestions?
Thanks as always!

Lindsay

I tried to export it as a .txt and rebuild it in Arc.....it was 5 gigabites. My computer can't to that...

You can import a raster as a 3D point cloud but you can't export a 3D cloud as a raster... The only way to generate a raster from a point cloud is to use the "Tools > Projection > Rasterize" tool (don't forget to check the "Grid as a raster (geotiff)" checkbox).

The main issue here is to find the right 'step' parameter (i.e. the pixel size). You can see the raster dimensions in the cloud properties ('Meta data' section) as well as the cloud extents. So with a little bit of maths, you should manage to find the right value.

So;

For some reason I am able to bring a .tiff into CC and it appears rasterized, ie its not imported as a point cloud. You are saying there is noooooo way to export a .tiff?

This is a huge issue for me, as I can't 3D model into CC instead, as it itself is a .tiff derived from my CC point cloud (processed outside CC).

Have I hit a wall?

What version of CC are you using? Can you post a snapshot?

And I'm not sure to understand the second part: what do you want to do to your "raster"? If it's not a point cloud (once loaded into CC), you won't be able to do anything whit it. And you can export a cloud as a raster (with the "Rasterize" tool). You just have to provide the right 'step' parameter (i.e. pixel size).
