Reducing the number of points in point cloud

I have a point cloud with many points. I want to reduce the number of points, is it possible to do that in CC? If so, how?

Is it the distance in meters i am changing in the subsample dialog Box?

Same coordinates as your cloud (there's no explicit units in CC). You can look at the scale in the lower right part of the 3D view to guess your cloud size...
